The Mix
Overview
The Mix is the ministry we have specifically geared towards our Middle School students, 7th and 8th grade. The ministry is called the Mix because we hope to bring them into close association with Christ and with each other. We do that in three main programs, the Mix, 242 Groups and Mix it Up. You can learn more about each program below.
The Mix meets on Sunday mornings during 2nd service (9:35am)
in the Barn on the Fellowship Campus. During this time, we focus on Worship and the Word, including elements of relationships
and fun. The environment is one that provides a context for relationships, corporate worship and teaching. The program
is carried out in a way that is not threatening to students who attend for the first time.
242 Groups provide a context for students
and their leaders to engage together about deeper matters of life and Faith. Each 242 Group leader determines
what time and where their group will meet. In almost all situations, 242 Groups meet on Wednesday nights in the homes of
students or leaders.
The main curriculum is predetermined by our student ministry staff team. Since the groups rely on consistent community and commitments from the members, a student needs to sign up for 242 Groups in order to be placed in a group. Sign up cards may be picked up at the Mix on Sunday morning, downloading it here and returning it to a leader or staff member, or by contacting Doug Greene.
Mix it Up
Mix it Up occurs on the last Wednesday of every month in varying locations. Stay tuned to the calendar to the left to learn where this month's Mix it Up will be. It is designed to be the most non-threatening situation a student can attend in our ministry. It is focused on fun and relationships, along with a brief message by someone on our leadership team. Some things we have done in the past for Mix it Up is Geezer Skate, Pump it Up, pool parties, etc. Students who are not a part of our ministry at all are encouraged to come, and students who are a part of our ministry are encouraged to invite their friends.
